Watching out for each other

inholborn’s businesswatch radio link was successfully launched in July and has been a huge success. 53 BID companies have taken advantage of our introductory free trial and signed up so far.

Having a network of observers at street level has already led to a drastic decline in day-to-day crime and quickly contributed to one arrest and subsequent court appearance. Thanks to Cafe Moko’s owner being able rapidly to alert us and the police, our rangers and our PCSOs were able to track down the suspected burglar who was subsequently arrested.

We have also had reports of counterfeit £20 notes having been detected at several BID businesses. To help protect local businesses we have been handing out counterfeit detection pens free of charge.
