3 More Arrests for BusinessWatch
More than 50 businesses are signed up already - and it's making a real difference
The improved communications provided by inholborn's BusinessWatch street-level radio link network have led to a further 3 arrests, taking the total to 5 in under 3 months. This is a seriously high level of achievement for a new system. Thank you to all the businesses taking part for helping us to make Holborn a safer place for us all.
And word is obviously getting out to our friends in the criminal community that Holborn is no longer an easy place to pick on:
"I am a manager at very busy pub in Holborn. Since the radios have been introduced I can honestly say that our bag theft problem has dropped by at least 65–70%.
Many of our customers are business people, and their laptops make our pub a prime target on Thursday and Friday nights. Having the radios has proved to be a super idea and it is great that we can all communicate with each other at the touch of a button.
Thanks guys, Keep up the good work" - Gareth Cornish, Manager of the Square Pig
Not only has the scheme been used to deter shoplifting and other retail crime, it has also been helping to keep the streets free of drugs and rough sleepers. If we're all communicating and watching out for each other, thieves will look for easier pickings elsewhere.
