Holborn and Covent Garden Neighbourhood. The Safer Neighbourhood Team

The Holborn Partnership in unison with the community to keep our neighbourhood safe.

How does it help you? The team works to a mandate set by a community panel consisting of people who work or live in the neighbourhood. Sergeant Iain Petrie who helps to head-up the team is working hard to ensure you are safer and feel safer. “The team have access to a crime prevention officer who can visit local businesses to give free advice on a variety of crime prevention issues and security where appropriate. Also, Police SNT patrols are conducted in The Business Partnership area by a dedicated officer, PC Chinwe Oztas. These include tackling early morning homeless issues, begging in the High Holborn area, thefts in the Kingsway and general high visibility patrols to deter theft and provide public reassurance. We also police the high demand soup kitchens in the evenings at Lincoln’s Inn Fields, are tackling the youth disorder issues centred upon Millman Street in the Holborn area and are also tackling Class A drugs dealing in Covent Garden.”

The SNT covers the old geographical areas of Holborn and Covent Garden, the area bordered by the Charing Cross Road to the West, Guilford Street to the North, Lincolns Inn to the South and Farringdon Road to the East; Sergeant Petrie is keen to keep you informed of various local issues and offer crime prevention advice.
