Holborn Bike Roadshow - 20 June
All about getting people out and about on bikes.
City commuters considering cycling to work are urged to head along to Red Lion Square on the 20th June from 11am to get the low-down on bike security, local cycle paths and discover the health benefits of this green mode of travel.
This commuter cycling oriented event is part of National Bike Week (14-22 June) and will be jointly run by Camden Council and Cycle Experience and in partnership with inholborn and TfL.
Featuring at this event will be;
Camden Transport Planning providing information on cycle routes, cycle training and bike security as well as free Bike Week giveaways
Static display of bikes to highlight suitable travel for commuters. In addition there will be examples of typical family cycling ‘solutions’, i.e. front and rear child seats and tandems
A chance to win a brand new Raleigh Boadway provided by Cycle Experience for a lucky participant
Examples of typical equipment used by cyclists
Literature support will be provided with factsheets and guides on various aspects of cycling
A free Dr Bike Service offering a maintenance check on all bicycles brought to the event
Participants attending will be able to register their bikes on the National Police Database
The Metropolitan Police will be present to offer security advice on the types of locks to buy and the best way to keep your bike secure
Information on the three stages of cycle training offered by Camden Council together with a Camden Cycle Trainer
Three Cycle Experience people will be there to provide advice on cycling equipment plus two Travel Awareness Officers from Camden Council to promote cycling.
