Antisocial Cycling
A new initiative to combat rogue cyclists
BID business have highlighted antisocial cycling as a concern, and while the company as a whole adheres to the belief that cycling within the BID should be encouraged, the promotion of responsible cycling should also be a priority.
On 15 May, a Street Ranger collected data from monitoring key junctions in the BID area, recording times and details of antisocial cycling, which was generally categorised between cycling through red lights and cycling on pavements. Statistics showed that at one junction over a 100 cyclist in 1 hour were found to have jumped red lights.
Due to the level of concern raised, inholborn with the help of the Metropolitan Police have set up a new initiative to tackle this issue.
During June and July Police Officers will be placed at all main junctions in the BID area, issuing warnings and fines to antisocial cyclists.
We will support the responsible - and crack down on the inconsiderate
