Un Tram Pour Tous

An example of modern tramway

The planned Cross River Tram will be a state-of-the-art transport which will ease congestion and provide a long-awaited alternative route through central London. The route of the Cross River Tram has been carefully selected to give maximum benefit to most people. Some sections will relieve the most overcrowded stretches of the Underground while others will provide rail connections in areas which currently rely on buses. Cross River Tram will carry 7,000 people per hour per direction in peak periods.

On 19 June Tass Mavrogordato (our Chief Executive) invited by friends of CPR visited Paris to experience the benefits of implementing a tram network within a busy city. The tour focused on the transport system in Paris, the construction phase and what impact this had on businesses in the area.

Tass said “Thank you to CRP for an inspiring day’s tour of the Paris tram system. The tram represents a sustainable and efficient addition to public transport provision”.
